Emerald Team Challenge



Karsyn went to her favorite meet on March 8th in Cottage Grove. OR. It is her favorite meet because they give out trophies for every award rather than just awarding medals. If that isn't motivation to do her best, I don't know what it is! But do her best, she did. She placed 3rd in vault with a 9.4, 4th on beam with a 9.4 and 1st on Floor with a 9.525 (her highest score ever on Floor). We are very proud of her, especially since she missed the whole week of gym before the meet and competed on not much sleep and we drove right from the airport to the meet. She also won a judges award. The judges vote on one girl that stood out to them on each event. Karsyn was awarded the Judges award for Beam. They said her dismount was the longest they had seen and just beautiful! I put the video of her beam routine on so you can see her dismount and the video of her wonderful Floor routine.

Karsyn looks great! Hadley will be so excited to watch it when she gets home. And then she'll invite all of her friends to come over and watch her "Russian cousin" do gymnastics! :) So fun to see you last week. My kids didn't even know you had been here but are excited to see you in a few weeks!

I will just tell you that I think Karsyn is terrific. I can't imagine how perfect she was and what concentration she had with all that was going on around her. She is very, very, very and a hundred more very's good. Some day she will be famous I am sure!

Heidi her floor routine was awesome! She has never looked so graceful! You need to keep her out dancing all night more often! That seems to work for her!

Heather sends us at least one vacation deal to look at each month. In September 2020 she showed us a sale on airfare to Hawaii over Scott's birthday. We had such a fun time there in January 2020 that it didn't take us long to commit and we booked airfare to Maui. Paris

So here is a look at our trip to Paris.  It might be more than most of you care to read!  I just copied and pasted emails we sent home while on our trip.  This is more for my benefit than anyone else's since this blog is the closest I have come to keeping a journal.  Hope you enjoy the journey- we sure did! View from our Seine River Cruise Day One We have the tiniest little room way up at the very top of a very narrow skinny hotel. It reminds us of the love dungeon (our first basement apartment) but it is up at the top so we called it our "love tower"! The bed is a double and you can only stand up straight in the room if you are standing on Scott's side of the bed! The tub is half size (I think they made it for Napoleon).  But I slept great. The weather was amazing! After getting in it was too early to get our room so we left our bags at the hotel and walked around for about an hour while waiting to meet up with the Parkers again. Memorable highlights and sayings from 2007

January Highlight: Staying at our friends cabin up by Mt. St. Helens. Just a quick drive up the mountain and we had plenty of snow for sledding and great views of St. Helens. January Quote: Scott and I were in the car with Cassidy. I was complaining about how tired I had been. It didn't see m to matter if I slept 4 hours or 8 hours, I always felt tired. Cassidy who had been relatively quiet up till this point pipes up and says, "maybe you are going through menopause." Scot t and I started laughing and then Cassi dy admitted she didn't even know what that meant, she had just heard it in "F ather the Bride II".
