Prophet said to plant a garden

Just like the primary song says, it is wise counsel to have a garden. We really felt that to be true once the pandemic hit and people started hoarding goods from grocery stores. Layton had the great idea to plant some vegetables in our flower beds off the back patio. It would be something the kids could do and we could hopefully enjoy some fresh veggies grown by us - it was a win-win! So I sent Layton and Karsyn to the store to get some vegetable starters. Most of what we wanted wasn't available (everyone else in town had the same idea to plant a garden), but they came home with Brussel sprouts, broccoli, cauliflower, romaine lettuce, cilantro, cherry tomatoes and strawberry plants. After the planting took place the kids seemed to lose interest in the plants but I sure enjoyed checking on them every few days and am proud to say we successfully ate something off every plant - except for the strawberries, which I soon learned do not produce fruit the first year they are planted, so we have those to look forward to next year.
