#thefrontstepsproject

The purpose of this project was two-fold:
1) bring us together virtually when we might feel isolated, and
2) an opportunity to step up to help those who need it most right now by donating to a charity in need.

I first learned about this after seeing Heather post a picture of her family with the hashtag #thefrontstepsproject.

I quickly looked it up to learn more about this project. Helping people in need and a chance for a family photo - you know I am all in for that! We even had Cassidy and Sam here with us at the time so we had everyone here except for the Hughes!

I put out a request on Facebook to see if any local photographers were participating in this project. I heard back from a neighbor and friend that took Cassidy's senior photos as well as our family photos several years back. We booked a time just a couple days later, fought to find a few minutes without pouring rain, and within 10 minutes had several family front steps photos!

The only problem was, our photographer didn't really understand the second purpose of this project, or she did and chose our charity for us...Clouds in Bloom Photography! She charged us for a regular mini-session. Oh well, at least we got some cute family pictures and we did help out a struggling business.

Then on Easter Sunday, Heather (the other half of our made up HeArt Photography business) went around to all the families on the Stewart side in Utah to get everyone's family front steps pictures!
 Blake, Bethany, and JR Stewart
 Scott, Ryder and Jolie Stewart
Cameron, Lilly, Jenni, Sam, Luke, Chad, Rilee Stewart (and Ralph E dog)
Jamie, Brittany, Sarah, Abi, Ellie, Isaac, and Grace Pruden

Always together, never apart. Maybe in distance, but never in heart.
