Vietnam Day 10: Halong Bay and Tuan Chau International Amusement Park

Our morning started out very early this morning when a motor boat went puttering by our cruise boat at 4:00 am. Scott went up above to watch the sunrise and then we were ready for tai chi at 6:15. Scott did not at one with the universe while doing this. He looked like it was all he could do to not laugh. Then we had a lite breakfast so we would not be too sluggish for our hike to see Surprise Cave. We hiked about 200 steps to the cave and it was worth it! I don't ever remember being a cave this large! And it turns out the surprise is something they like to call "happy rock". We got just s few minutes to freshen and pack up before having brunch and then we were off the boat! We said good bye to all our new Aussie friends but not until after grabbing a group photo. We decided to kill three hours at something called the International Amusement Park rather than hanging out at the airport. Little did we know nothing was open that day! It looked like had rented the place out for ourselves! We did get to see a little show where monkeys rode bicycles and a man put his head in a crocodile's mouth as soon as entered the park. But after that, the only thing we found open was something the called 9D theater. It's one of those seats on a moving base that jerks you  around as you view a 3D film of things like riding a roller coaster. We did it twice in a row because it was cooler inside the theater. I just sat with my eyes closed so I didn't get sick. There was supposed to be a dolphin and sea lion show too but we found out it didn't start until the time we had to leave. We killed time by walking around their miniature world icons, eating ice cream and jumping in the pool in our clothes to cool off. Just before it was time to go, I spotted the swings ride in operation. Scott and Layton did it about 4 times in a row for the breeze it produced. I wasn't going to risk it after two 9D rides and helping Layton eat 5 gross hot dog like things he accidentally ordered. Then on our way out I saw one more ride had an attendant at it - Crazy Wave. We had no idea what it was going to be like but we hopped on and buckled up. This kid set it to overdrive and had us swinging around a sideways vertical circle faster than I could believe possible. The more we screamed, the faster he went! We laughed and laughed and figured that was a good way to end our deserted day at the amusement park. Then we caught a private car to take us on the three hour journey back to Hanoi airport.
