WInner's Circle
It's Scott's favorite time of the year again...No, not waiting for the pinewood derby to get over so he can go to Bandon, but the pinewood derby itself!!!!
This was Will's first pinewood derby! He had some big shoes to fill since his brother went un-defeated during his cub scout career. Will designed his own car and of course it had to be a Drew Brees Saints car.
The day before the pinewood derby was "take-your-child-to -work-day". I always let my kids stay home if they want that day and work with me at home. Cause let me tell ya... I work!
The girls were more than happy to stay home and I was more than happy to give them a day's worth of projects needing to be done for the pinewood derby.
The whole event turned out fabulous! We put a ton of time into the decorations and treats but it paid off and people just couldn't say enough about how great it all turned out. We had a concessions stand this year and everyone got tickets they could spend on different treats at the concession stand.
All the treats at the concession stand had a car or driving theme.
The drinks were even served out of a gas can (bought brand new for this purpose of course!)
We had a kids corner all set up to keep the little siblings entertained while the big kids raced.
The boys all sat together in the Winner's Circle waiting for their turn to race.
Only those with Pit Passes were allowed over by the cars and the track.
Turns out Will had nothing to worry about. His car too went undefeated! Oh the pressure on Scott for next year! He and his boys haven't lost one race yet and Will is not going to be the first one to lose!
Then Scott did sneak off quietly after the races were done to Bandon - and he was almost as excited for that as he was the pinewood derby!
