One year old and wiser too!

Happy 17th Birthday Cassidy!





Cassidy started off her special day by having a few friends over for a parfait buffet before school.  Once again, she lucked out that it just happened to be a late start for school due to testing.  And the best part of that is that means NO SEMINARY!


So I guess the first real present of the day was being able to sleep past 4:45 in the morning!  But then she did get to open one present before school so she could have a new outfit to adorn the birthday girl.

Then I met up with her at school to take her out to lunch for her birthday.  We had to stay close since they have a whopping 25 minutes for lunch!  We graced Qdoba with her beautiful birthday presence and then, unfortunately, had to drop her back off at school.
Later that night, once everyone was home we opened gifts and headed out to Roses, her restaurant choice for dinner.  The food was great but dad made the night quite awkward.

We had this really cute waiter from Peru.  Cute, but way too old for Cassidy.  Cassidy mentioned something about his biceps and Scott just couldn't let it go!  Every time our waiter come to the table, Scott said something like, "It's my daughter's birthday, could she squeeze your biceps?"
If I hadn't know better, I would had thought Scott was trying to send her home with the waiter that night!  It was pretty disturbing, but Scott had fun.

Heather sends us at least one vacation deal to look at each month. In September 2020 she showed us a sale on airfare to Hawaii over Scott's birthday. We had such a fun time there in January 2020 that it didn't take us long to commit and we booked airfare to Maui. We soon realized we couldn't find any affordable lodging in Maui that also offered free cancellation. Generous cancellation policies are definitely a must in these crazy COVID times. Heather found a good deal on lodging in Kauai so we changed our airfare from Maui to Kauai. Yes! Everything was finalized! Well that was until it was declared that all visitors to Hawaii would be required to show a negative COVID test, from one of their approved testing sites, to get off the plane in Hawaii. Paris

So here is a look at our trip to Paris.  It might be more than most of you care to read!  I just copied and pasted emails we sent home while on our trip.  This is more for my benefit than anyone else's since this blog is the closest I have come to keeping a journal.  Hope you enjoy the journey- we sure did! View from our Seine River Cruise Day One We have the tiniest little room way up at the very top of a very narrow skinny hotel. It reminds us of the love dungeon (our first basement apartment) but it is up at the top so we called it our "love tower"! The bed is a double and you can only stand up straight in the room if you are standing on Scott's side of the bed! The tub is half size (I think they made it for Napoleon).  But I slept great. The weather was amazing! After getting in it was too early to get our room so we left our bags at the hotel and walked around for about an hour while waiting to meet up with the Parkers again. Memorable highlights and sayings from 2007

January Highlight: Staying at our friends cabin up by Mt. St. Helens. Just a quick drive up the mountain and we had plenty of snow for sledding and great views of St. Helens. January Quote: Scott and I were in the car with Cassidy. I was complaining about how tired I had been. It didn't see m to matter if I slept 4 hours or 8 hours, I always felt tired. Cassidy who had been relatively quiet up till this point pipes up and says, "maybe you are going through menopause." Scot t and I started laughing and then Cassi dy admitted she didn't even know what that meant, she had just heard it in "F ather the Bride II".
