Good Morning Baltimore!

Union's Show number this year was to "Hairspray" and was a lot of fun and full of energy!  Besides giving the team one of their best dancers, we able to contribute to this number by donating our old "Tracey Turnbow" costume that Cassidy wore for Halloween several years ago.

I was so happy to see that they finally split the team into a varsity and JV team for the dance number.  Cassidy was on the Varsity team and they did a jazzy dance called "Black Cat".

And as in years past, their most competitive dance was in the Hip Hop category.  The girls had a lot of fun with this and my favorite is to look back at facial expressions in my photos!  The biggest heartbreak with this number happened at the State Competition.  This dance was the girls best shot at a trophy but those dreams were dashed when the judges docked them for using brand names with the graffiti on their costumes.  They had a great chance at a 3rd or 2nd place but with these deductions it took them totally out of the running.  The girls were depressed about that but handled it well and left knowing they had performed at a winning level.

At the end of the season, the team brought in a professional photographer to do individual and team photos for the girls for FREE!  I anxiously put in the CD to look at the photos and this was the only one of Cassidy....yes, that one is her, peaking out from under the dress.  Apparently she thinks this is her best side.

Karsyn was more than willing to skip school that day to drive up to Yakima with me.  We had some good bonding moments over the dances and our favorite taco stand.
She was also a great support to her big sister and represented Jenna's family for her too!
The night and the season ended with a bang when it was time to adorn ourselves with our glow-in-the-dark accessories, crank the music and turn out the lights!
