Happy Birthday Scott
I felt like a really lame wife after what Scott did for my birthday celebrations. But then I convinced myself he just picked a really lame day to have his birthday! Thursdays are Scott's craziest days at work and this one was crazy even after work. Will and I had to be at pack meeting that night and Scott had a Stake Bishop meeting. Layton also had basketball practice and Cassidy had dance team practice. So finding time to be together and celebrate was a little beyond hard.
I did make sure his scheduler kept him enough time to take a lunch that day and we went out to, you guessed it, Panera for soup and salads. Then when we went back to his office, Stephanie his M.A., gave him this amazing Cheesecake Factory cake and everyone in the office came and sang to him.
Will got his Bobcat badge at Pack Meeting this month!
After work, school, dance, basketball, pack meeting, and Bishop meeting were all over we were ready to open presents! Yes, it was 9:30 p.m. but we were finally ready. First Scott opened the gifts from the kids. We put together a scrapbook page that showed why all the kids loved their dad. We even got Kennedy to send us a picture from college to add to the page.
Then each of the kids gave Scott his own personal 2 liter of pop with a cute saying to go with it. I decided back in November to stop buying soda to have in the house. Needless to say, there are times when we all really miss it - especially Scott. So now he had his own personal stash.
And don't forget his favorite sugar cereal - Peanut Butter Crunch!
Then he got some much needed new church shoes.
We had to be done with presents by 10:00 because I had a special surprise for Scott. I had arranged for him to get a singing telegram from non other than Dan Morrill. Dan is in our ward and has an amazing voice. Scott is his biggest fan and his favorite song that Dan sings is "O Holy Night". So I had Dan come sing a personalized version of that song to Scott for his birthday.
So with the crazy day, Scott and I were both itching to get out of the house and do something fun. So we went to a 10:30 movie which let out at 1:00 a.m. Who says we are old? We saw "Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close" and it was extremely good and Incredibly awesome. I did have to yell at the only other people in our movie - 7 teenage boys - to be quiet and Scott was afraid he was going to spend his birthday fighting to defend my honor. He was quite relieved when they left 30 minutes into the movie and I was relieved I could finally hear the movie!

The day after Scott's birthday none of the kids had school so we continued to celebrate. We took the boys out to breakfast since the girls were both at dance team practice all day. Then Scott went for an hour massage which turned out to be an hour of torture. I guess they lady was a little too buff.
We then ended the day by watching Will's basketball game and then taking the girls out to dinner to Tommy O's (since the boys went to breakfast).
Hopefully Scott knows that we would spend the entire day, every day with him if we could! Happy Birthday darling. We love you!
