Happy Birthday Will!

Will turned 8 this month!  He has been so excited about this birthday because it means he finally gets to be baptized.  He was tired of being the only one in the family that wasn't an official member of the Church.  It also means that he is old enough to get the first installment of the "the talk".  He is the only one of my kids that has been looking forward to this dinner-date with mom and dad!

Since the kids get to choose whatever they want for breakfast, Will chose to have his own box of Cookie Crisp cereal.
After school and work, we went out to Sweet Tomatoes for dinner and then home for presents.  Will has become quite interested in Legos lately and he tells me the whole reason is because it is something he can do with dad.  He is very aware of any time he feels he is missing out on with his dad and always finds a way or something to do to make sure he gets his daddy-fix.

Here are 8 things about Will and why we love him:

1.  Will is extremely dramatic and expressive (exhibit A is the photo collage above of him opening up his presents)
2.  Will is no dummy.  He knows how to go about getting things he wants.  For instance, if there is a game on TV on Sunday that he really wants to see, he asks if he can go visit our sweet neighbor couple who live alone.  He knows they will be watching the game!
3.  Will does his fair share of getting into trouble, but he always comes to me afterwards, unprovoked, and gives me a sincere apology.
4.  Will loves any type of sports.  He wants to expand his skills beyond basketball to football and baseball in the next year.  Just start giving me my crazy pills now!
5.  Will is a ladies man.  He is the first to tell you this.  He told me the other day that he was a "player". (okay, double my dose of crazy pills!)
6.  Will loves his brother, Layton.  He does not like it at all when Layton goes somewhere that doesn't involve him.  He asks me about every 5 minutes how much longer it will be until Layton is back home.
7.  Will still shows a lot of crack, and
8.  last but not least, is Will's sense of humor.  That kid is just funny, but in such a mature way, that it not only makes you laugh, but takes you by surprise.

Happy Birthday Will!  We sure love you!
