Start Spreading the News...

I'm leaving today.  I'm gonna be a part of it, New Jersey, New Jersey!

Yes, New Jersey is where Karsyn chose to go on her daddy/daughter trip.  Only a true Cake Boss fan would choose to go to Hoboken, NJ.  Seeing Carlos' Bake Shop in person has been a dream of hers for over a year now.  When Karsyn retired from gymnastics, she traded in the uneven bars for cookie bars and anything sweet.  Decorating cakes is her all time favorite way to spend her time in the kitchen.

Scott and Karsyn took the red-eye flight into Newark, arriving at 6:00 a.m.  With suitcases in hand, they grabbed a taxi and headed straight to Carlos' Bakery.  Even with being there right when they opened their doors, they still were #22 in line to get in and order.  Karsyn left with her arms full of goodies and one huge smile on her face.

Scott was happy to take Karsyn to New Jersey for the morning, but that isn't where he wanted to spend the entire weekend.  After Hoboken, they spent the next day and a half sight-seeing in New York City.

Karsyn really enjoyed seeing the NYC Temple.  She couldn't get over the fact that it was in the middle of the city and in a high rise building.

In addition to the regular sites, they rented bikes for a couple hours to ride through Central Park.

To get a view of the city, Scott and Karsyn went up to the top of the Rockefeller Center.  That way, they could not only see the city, but get a good view of the Empire State building.

Karsyn was so excited to see the Statue of Liberty in real life.  They took a ferry out to Ellis Island which gave them up close views of Lady Liberty herself.  Then they took the headphone tour of Ellis Island.

And since 2 lobster tails, 4 cannolis, 4 croissants, and a 2-layer chocolate ganache-filled cake are not enough for Karsyn's sweet tooth, they had to stop by the famous Dylan's Candy Bar for a treat.

Their New York journey came to a grand finale on Broadway with a showing of Lion King.

Then it was time for a rental car and a journey to upstate New York.  Scott was excited to show Karsyn the New York church history sites for the first time, especially the Sacred Grove, one of his very favorite places in the world.

It was fun to hear from Scott about how much he was enjoying his time with Karsyn.  It is basically impossible not to enjoy yourself when she is around!

I didn't know they were going up to the church sites too! What an amazing daddy daughter vacation. I love that you are able to do these. It's something your kids will treasure forever!

Well, this is a surprise! When did they go? I thought Scott just went to the football game in Tennessee with Will!
He is quite the traveling man!
Karsyn does make everything so much fun! Glad they had such a good time!
