A New School Year
Kennedy
Freshman at BYU Provo
Well, after all her A.P. classes from high school, she's probably closer to being a sophomore, but I don't want to rush this growing up thing anymore than I have to.

Cassidy
Junior
Cassidy finally got her drivers license the third day of school, just to find out she still can't drive to school because they are out of parking passes!

Karsyn
7th grade
Karsyn is back at our neighborhood middle school after homeschooling through Vancouver Home Connection for the last three years. She was both nervous and excited. Turns out there was no reason to be nervous, the first week of school she made a ton of new friends and even got a card from a girl thanking her for being so nice and asked that they might sit together at lunch!

Layton
5th grade/Excel program
Every Wednesday, Layton goes to another Elementary school where he is clustered together with kids that are all in the accelerated program. He came home from his first day of Excel totally pumped. He told me that the teacher starts every day off with a question of the day. Today's question was: Do you think time travel is possible? Oh, Layton is finally where he belongs!
Will
2nd grade
Will is quite the ladies man at school. He tells me that all he does every recess is run away from the girls. So far, only one has been able to catch him. But before the end of the first school day, one lucky girl had been chosen to be the object of Will's affection, Claire (sigh). He came out the morning before the second day of school with a vase full of flowers. He told me he was going to take them to school and give them to Claire. I convinced him it was not a good idea to take my glass vase, full of water, to school and that a single, long-stem rose would be a better idea. So we went out and cut her a red rose. After school he came in the door with a long face. He said it was the worst day ever. Claire didn't want to be his girlfriend, nor did she want his flower. Then he asked, "why is it that the only girl I want, is the only girl that doesn't want me?" Oh, let's just say we had several long discussions about life that day - just the two of us!
