Hood To Coast Gone Wild
I have certainly wised up in the last few years!  The first year Scott did Hood To Coast, I got tricked into driving one of the vans at the last minute (24 hours straight - no sleep).  His second year, I was quick to volunteer elsewhere to avoid driving again.  But this year, I did it completely right...I left town!  I did miss being there to experience this with Scott, even if it was just being there at Camp 18 restaurant after the race, but I did enjoy my time relaxing in Utah.  And it made it easier knowing that he would be with Gavin, who joined his team for the first time this year.  Scott was in van 2 this year, meaning they didn't have to start at the crack of dawn, but would be the team running in to the finish line on the coast. Scott ran legs #11, #23, #35 this year.  It was definitely the hottest year he has run this race, and the busiest.  He said they added 250 teams (500 vans) this year.  While it was a nice concept, they weren't really prepared to handle the additional traffic.  But even with the heat and traffic, Scott had another great experience and can't wait until next year.

You know it is hot when Scott pulls out the headband!
A bottle of water, a banana, and a buddy.  That's all you need to survive Hood to Coast.
And don't forget sweaty vests, headlamps and crowded, noisey parking lots for your relaxing night on the road!
Now that is the smile of someone getting ready to run their last leg!

I admire anyone who can enjoy running! Never been anything I have done or wanted to do.
Great job guys!
