Planking (fad)

Not to be confused with Plank (exercise).

Planking or the lying down game is an activity consisting of lying face down in an unusual or incongruous location. The hands must touch the sides of the body and having a photograph of the participant taken and posted on the internet is an integral part of the game.  Players compete to find the most unusual and original location in which to play. The term planking refers to mimicking a wooden plank. Rigidity of the body must be maintained to constitute good planking.

Kennedy went to California with Chandler Roberson right after high school graduation.  I want to make a T-shirt that reads: " My daughter went to California and all I got was these lousy planking pictures"

I was so excited to see all her photos when she got home but my excitement quickly turned to utter confusion.  Why did every picture of my daughter look like she was a passed-out drunk with extremely good muscle tone?  Planking is why.  I still can't say I really "get it" but I have to admit that looking at a few dozen planking pictures, one after another, does get quite funny!  

The rest of our summer was spent looking for planking opportunities.  Every family outing or vacation became a planking photo shoot.

Before you knew it, we had all been bit by the planking craze.  But let's just say, it was obvious who were the less-experienced plankers!

I give Layton a 1.8

Head is in good position, back is fairly flat but major deductions for dropped legs and using his hands.

I give Scott a 3.1

Head also in fairly good position, right foot is in full flexed form and "look ma, no hands"

 I give Karsyn a 9.8
