My little entrepreneur
Every year, each first grade class makes their very own homemade hot air balloon. Then the rest of the school is invited outside to watch them take flight. I went over to the school to watch along with the other kids. I got there just in time to see the first balloon fly up high above the school playgrounds. The second balloon however, didn't make it too far. It caught on fire immediately after taking off and headed straight for the parking lot! In all the years the school has done this, this was the first time one ended up in flames. One of the teachers was able to retrieve what was left of it before it landed on any cars.
So after all the excitement of the burning balloon, I tried to find Will. I found him in the crowd sitting directly across from me. When he noticed me, he reached in his pocket and pulled out this wad of money to flaunt in front of me. After the assembly, I asked him where all that money came from and he told me he has been selling his toys at school! And I was so happy seeing all his old toys spread across his floor everyday thinking how nice it was to see him playing with them again! I then had to tell him a story about another little boy that sold lollipops at school about 30 years ago (and just happened to look a lot like Will) and got in so much trouble that they gave him 'licks'. Will's toy store has now officially gone out of business!
