Illumination
While we were in Africa with Kennedy, Cassidy and Karsyn tried out for a dance company called Illumination. This team was to last up until the end of the school year. There was no cost to the girls, and the instructors donated all their time and talents to the girls. All this hard work ended with a two-night recital for charity. They aren't the only ones that worked hard during this time. As much as they girls loved it, it made my last few months of school beyond crazy. The two hours turned in to more like 5 to 9 hours or more, ever-changing schedules, and multiple dance locations. But as worn out as I was, I have to admit the girls looked fabulous on that stage. They each had their own dance groups and performed over 5 dances, including a solo by Cassidy.

This was Karsyn's first time on a real stage, with a real audience as a dancer. She was excited to share this moment with her good friends from gymnastics. It meant so much to she and I that they all (and some of the moms) so eagerly came to support her performance night. They even adorned her with flowers! Karsyn was as excited about wearing make-up as she was performing. I sure hope this night taught her that all-important lesson of "less is more"!
