April showers bring....Prom!

Cassidy had great timing when she turned 16 just before Mormon Prom.  But Cassidy didn't have such great timing when Mormon Prom turned out to be while we were in Africa.  I felt bad not being there to shop with her, help her get ready or take photos (you know that part really killed me!)  Life was so crazy getting ready to leave for Rwanda that we borrowed her dress and jewelry and she was on her own to get the boutonniere and do her own hair and make-up.  I think she did great because she looked fabulous!

Then just a few weeks later, and only days after getting home from Rwanda, Kennedy was asked to the school prom by Jacob.  He had her room all decked out like an African jungle, complete with little plastic safari animals, a "river" running through the middle of her floor, and personalized gifts with Rwanda photos on them.  With no time to hem her dress, Kennedy bought the highest-heeled shoes she could find.  She barely made it through photos before she was carrying them and walking barefoot.  They went to the prom in style with a hummer limo and ate a PF Chang's for dinner.  I can't believe I have two daughters dating and going to prom.  What beautiful young women they both are!
