Another year of Fabulous!

Here we go again...another sweet 16! I can't believe my little Cassidy is old enough to date and drive. Cassidy started off her birthday with her birthday breakfast of cinnamon rolls, scrambled eggs and bacon. She got a special birthday treat by having a late start at school, meaning there was also no seminary. Every teenage girl loves a little extra beauty sleep on their birthday - not that Cassidy needs it!


Karsyn continued with her new tradition of making the birthday cake and once again it was a total success!

We had such a crazy schedule the week of Cassidy's birthday that we had to celebrate her party as a family the night before her actual birthday. We went out to dinner to a Japanese Steakhouse and did gifts and cake at home. But I still wanted to make her feel special on her actual birthday so I scheduled a limo to pick her up with 8 of her friends after school. The limo took them out for ice cream, to the mall and then to visit some friends. It was fun to see the limo parked outside the high school. Most of the students were hanging around to see who it was for. Cassidy was just as curious as the rest of them and was so honestly surprised and thrilled when she learned it was all for her!

So not only was the week of Cassidy's birthday crazy, so was the entire month of March! Between our trip to Orlando, going out to Utah with Kennedy and our trip to Rwanda, we had to delay her friend party until a future date...still TBA! But that is the beauty of Cassidy, she is more than happy to patiently wait. And I am more than happy to make this special birthday feel like a month -long celebration! I love you Cassidy.

Heather sends us at least one vacation deal to look at each month. In September 2020 she showed us a sale on airfare to Hawaii over Scott's birthday. We had such a fun time there in January 2020 that it didn't take us long to commit and we booked airfare to Maui. We soon realized we couldn't find any affordable lodging in Maui that also offered free cancellation. Generous cancellation policies are definitely a must in these crazy COVID times. Heather found a good deal on lodging in Kauai so we changed our airfare from Maui to Kauai. Yes! Everything was finalized! Paris

So here is a look at our trip to Paris.  It might be more than most of you care to read!  I just copied and pasted emails we sent home while on our trip.  This is more for my benefit than anyone else's since this blog is the closest I have come to keeping a journal.  Hope you enjoy the journey- we sure did! View from our Seine River Cruise Day One We have the tiniest little room way up at the very top of a very narrow skinny hotel. It reminds us of the love dungeon (our first basement apartment) but it is up at the top so we called it our "love tower"! The bed is a double and you can only stand up straight in the room if you are standing on Scott's side of the bed! The tub is half size (I think they made it for Napoleon).  But I slept great. Memorable highlights and sayings from 2007

January Highlight: Staying at our friends cabin up by Mt. St. Helens. Just a quick drive up the mountain and we had plenty of snow for sledding and great views of St. Helens. January Quote: Scott and I were in the car with Cassidy. I was complaining about how tired I had been. It didn't see m to matter if I slept 4 hours or 8 hours, I always felt tired. Cassidy who had been relatively quiet up till this point pipes up and says, "maybe you are going through menopause."
