'Twas the Night Before Christmas..."
So not only have we adopted Shane and Julie's Christmas Eve tradition, we have now adopted their family as well! Even though they couldn't be with us for Christmas Eve, we still met together with their family in town, the Dustin's, for our annual sub-sandwich dinner and "left-right" candy bar game. Nathan Dustin made a great addition to the evening by reading Luke 2 and leading a great discussion afterwards. We are so lucky to have such great cousin-in-laws!
Karsyn didn't waste anytime in playing Santa once we got home. She put on her Santa hat and loaded up all the sibling gifts for the kids to open up before heading off the the kids slumber party. There was a little rivalry going on between Karsyn and Kennedy about the kids slumber party this year. Karsyn was first to decorate her room and was ready to release Kennedy from her duties of hosting the annual event. Her excuse was that this was Kennedy's last Christmas anyway and it was time to pass the torch. Kennedy didn't like that theory one bit. She felt it should definitely be in her room because it was her last Christmas here with her own room. Well, the party went on as usual in Kennedy's room but I think there will be a new sheriff in town next year!
The boys kept a close eye on tracking Santa Claus via the internet. Wish we had something like this when I was a kid. I think I was in bed every year by 9:30 just to be safe that I was in bed before Santa made it to our house. Now my kids can look and see that they have hours before he arrives!

Finally...no one was stirring, except a mom with her camera!
