A Day of Gratitude

We are truly blessed. We are so lucky to be a part of a loving family. Not only have we been blessed with a wonderful marriage and five amazing children, we are surrounded by an extended family that rocks! It isn't very often that you can blend two families; parents, siblings, sibling's spouses and children and just love every single one of them! Since we missed out on our dose of Utah family- togetherness this summer, we were craving us some family time for Thanksgiving.

Scott flew out the Sunday before Thanksgiving with Karsyn, Layton and Will. I waited and flew out Tuesday night with Kennedy and Cassidy. We hadn't been in Salt Lake for 20 minutes before I grabbed my coat again and headed out with Scott to take Karsyn to the emergency room. She had been complaining of stomach pain all day, had no appetite and was vomiting. She complained that the pain was all located in the right side of her stomach. Well, 4 of her friends have had appendicitis in the last 6 months so we were not taking any chances! After four hours at the ER we still had no conclusive test results. So we took her home, let her sleep off the pain killers given at the hospital, and saw a new and improved Karsyn come morning.

Unfortunately, Karsyn was only the beginning of this bug. It then went through Layton, Will, Kennedy and a most of the cousins. Poor Layton had the bug the day of family pictures. He did such a good job of pretending to smile.

Aunt Heather had us over to help make Thanksgiving Turkey Treats. The kids, especially Karsyn, had a great time creating them while most of the adults had a great time working on quality control.

Thanksgiving dinner was spent with the Stewarts. The food was fabulous and Grandma Grandma couldn't had been happier to have her ENTIRE family there all at once!

The Kid Table!

Griffin and Lilly were so cute 'talking turkey' with their homemade turkeys!

Then we had dessert and games with the Rushings.

I tried to sneak this one in my suitcase coming home but mamma Sommer wouldn't hear of it!

This is cousin Brock with Kennedy. He never left her side. He is president of her fan club.

Thanks for compliment! Love being called a 'kid' especially the year of my 40th birthday. What great memories!
