Church Camps

This was Kennedy's last Girl's Camp. And according to her, the best one yet! This is when she and I realized we had begun the first of her "lasts". Even though she has one more year before she graduates and leaves for college, the end of many things have already begun
for her. She had a blast being a YCL (youth camp leader). She has such a knack for writing skits and songs and the younger girls all loved her. Cassidy had a great time as well and will be a JC (junior counselor) next year. Since I am not in Young Women's anymore I didn't have to opportunity to go up to camp. So I was very excited when I realized that I could go as the Bishop's wife for testimony night. Scott took up pizza and ice cream to all the girls that last night and we got to stay for their final camp fire and testimony meeting. Scott ended up with a Herkermer (spelling?) at campfire which meant he had to go dance in front of everyone! A Herkermer is a clothes pin. Every night at campfire there are several of these floating around. The girls try to secretly pin them on each other and if you are caught wearing one at a certain moment....you have to dance! Poor Scott. He was last out of about 12 people to get on stage and dance. By the time they got to him, every dance move had been taken. The sprinkler, the Lawnmover, the Moonwalk, the Running Man...all taken! That wasn't a big deal because he can't do any of those moves anyway! But the guy right before him got up there and did the Worm. That is when I knew he was in trouble. The Worm is all Scott has! With that taken, Scott kind of walked around the stage in a rapper sort of way just hoping his song would end soon!

We were out of town when our Ward went to Scout camp this year. I searched around and found out that he could go with the Harmony Ward. He actually has more friends from school in that Ward anyway so he was very excited to join them. Once again, Layton excelled at shooting the BB gun. He came home with all sorts of awards for his shooting and several leaders telling me how accurate he is. Not sure this is something that should make me proud, but it will come in handy if he decides to go into law enforcement one day.
