King for a Day

What does an amazing father deserve for Father's Day? To be King for the Day of course!

Scott got to wear his "King of the Day" crown and had special privileges whenever he sat in one of his three "Thrones". His chair at the table, his chair in his office and his favorite spot on the couch where all labeled with a "King for the Day" crown. Whenever he was sitting in one of those spots, he could ring his bell and call for any of the kids to perform any task on his "King for the Day" list of requests. He was also given an unlimited supply of money from the Kings Treasury to pay for his special requests. The child with the most money at the end of the day earned a candy bar.

Scott had to check off each request after it was fulfilled. Some of his favorites such as foot massages were listed several times. Karsyn was the grand money winner at the end of the day!

The list contained something special for each child to do for their daddy. Will got to read him a story, Layton got to try out a few of his latest jokes on him, Kennedy got to play a favorite song on the piano and Cassidy and Karsyn gave lots and lots of massages! I even got to give him "a smile just because"!
Then the kids updated his Father's Day tie. Kennedy did not like this at all. This was the tie she made for him in Primary when she was 3 years old. He wears it every Father's Day and it has lost some its bedazzlement over the years. I thought it would be a good idea to let the other kids add some more bling to it and then it would be from all the kids and not just Kennedy. Kennedy seriously about cried when she heard my plan. Sometimes that girl is just a little too sentimental. The green feather and yellow pipe cleaner remain her favorite part of the tie because that is what is left of her original design.

I have been blessed with two great father's in my life - the one that raised me and the one that is raising my children. They both have worked in careers that kept them very busy, but both also know how to make the time they have with their kids count. Their time off has always been quality time, well spent with their children. Happy Father's Day to both of you. I love you.

If anyone deserves to be King for the day it would be Scott. He is the busiest man but still finds time for the most important things in his life...his family! I love all the attention and love he received

I'm kind of on Kennedy's side on this one. The tie should be her's. I think all of the kids need to make their own ties so he can wear 5 ties to church like Gavin did.

Love the 'King for the Day' idea. And the list of pampering stuff. It's nice to feel like the King every once in awhile.
