Cardboard, duct tape and Layton

Layton is crafty, creative and the world's best recycler. If there is something he wants, he just makes it. His toy chest is my recycling bin and his tools are cardboard, markers, tape and staplers. I can't possibly keep everything this boy has made because believe me, he has made just about everything! But I did take a few pictures of some of his "inventions" that I found in his room this past week. We are getting new carpet upstairs so everything had to be cleaned out of all the bedrooms. Besides a ton of junk, I did find a few treasures!

This was a crayon monogram he helped me make for his teacher for the last day of school. Will made one too for his teacher but I forgot to get a picture of it before we gave it away!
These are just a few of his ipods and MP3 players:
Here is a wallet he made out of paper, notice he even made his own money!

And we can't forget the gameboys and playstations!
Looking for a phone? He made several models so there are plenty to choose from.
He even makes his own game boards complete with little cardboard people.
And for his band, the "Heartbreakers", he made his entire music set complete with keyboards and guitars.

Of all my kids, Layton is the one I am most anxious to see what he ends up doing in life. He uses a part of his brain I think most of us have forgotten about! If there isn't a job out there he will be interested in, I am sure he will just make one up and work out of a cardboard office!

I love Layton's creativity. He amazes me with his new 'inventions' and how he and Will can entertain themselves for hours. He is also a great story teller and can retell a story practically word for word as it is written in the book. He doesn't need television or video games to keep happy or busy.

Love all of Layton's creations. You'll be so glad you took pictures of them all. Laughing at the comment that he can just make up a job and work out of a cardboard office. So true!

Layton and Grace should get together. She is just the same. She has made a band out of cardboard too. She is really into making houses for her stuffed animals right now. It is cute and fun, but so messy!
