If the wart fits...

Every Monday at school Will has to write about something that happened over the weekend. Well, Sunday Will showed me something on his palm. At first I thought it was a blister but soon realized it was a wart. He kind of thought it was cool that he had a wart because it was so gross at the same time. He had all sorts of questions for us about warts. Mostly he wanted to know about how to get rid of it and if daddy was going to have to cut it out like he did with Karsyn's wart. Karsyn has to deal with them constantly since the virus gets passed around the gym easily. It seemed like he talked about his wart constantly. Finally I told him that it would be best if he didn't talk about his wart at school. I told him that most people didn't think warts were cool and they might tease him. So he said he would only tell his very best friends. I assured him that if his very best friends knew, then everyone would know soon enough. He finally agreed that no one at school should know about his wart. Then checking through his back pack after school on Monday I found this paper.

It says (for those of you that don't speak Kindergartenese):

I got a wart. Because my sister touches me a lot.

Then he drew this picture of his hand showing the exact spot of the alleged wart.

When he saw me looking at the paper he came in with a pouty face and said,

"I wrote about my wart and the teacher had us all read our papers out loud to the class. AND...she even made me use the microphone."

Don't they have some sort of HIPAA laws for the schools?

I love that the title is "weekend news". That could've been the title of this blog post too. I bet he was so excited that not only did he get to write about it but announce it over the microphone. I'm impressed with his writing and spelling too.

Oh he must have been so proud! I love how the kindergarten kids are encouraged to spell words how they sound to them.
This note was taped to Brittany's door when I tended the girls on Friday:
Gromoh is komyn tmarrowe! I love you.
