These boots were made for country concerts!


Time to dust off the cowboy hat and reclaim my boots from Kennedy's closet....George, Reba and Sommer are in town! Scott's sister, Sommer, came out with hubby Eric and our newest niece to see us. That was their story anyway. The real reason was to come see George and Reba in concert and it just so happened that we could give them a place to stay, a ride to the concert and the other Rushing's could babysit! Whatever the reason, we were glad for their visit.



What a concert! I think this was the longest concert I have ever been to. It started at 7:00 and didn't end until 11:30. Totally understandable when you look at all the talent they tried to pack in on one night! The night started out with LeeAnn Womack.

Then Reba took over. She is definitely an entertainer. She knew how to work the stage and had us all singing and dancing. When Karsyn found out we were seeing Reba in concert she was so jealous. Karsyn only knows Reba from her TV show, not as an artist. So tells me her favorite, and only song she knows of Reba is "I'm a Survivor". This is the theme song from her TV show. So when Reba has "Barbara Jean" from her TV series come out on stage I was very hopeful she was going to sing Karsyn's favorite song. Well, she did and I video-taped that song for Karsyn.



Reba also brought LeeAnn Womack back out for their amazing duet of "Does he Love You". Leeann had a small wardrobe malfunction but thanfully it wasn't anything like Janet Jackson a few years ago!


Then George Strait closed the show. He is a little more mellow than Reba but man can he sing and he is still as handsome as ever! My mother in law always jokes about how George doesn't have to do anything but sit on his stool and sing, because he's so good-looking!

Heather sends us at least one vacation deal to look at each month. In September 2020 she showed us a sale on airfare to Hawaii over Scott's birthday. We had such a fun time there in January 2020 that it didn't take us long to commit and we booked airfare to Maui. We soon realized we couldn't find any affordable lodging in Maui that also offered free cancellation. Generous cancellation policies are definitely a must in these crazy COVID times. Heather found a good deal on lodging in Kauai so we changed our airfare from Maui to Kauai. Yes! Everything was finalized! Well that was until it was declared that all visitors to Hawaii would be required to show a negative COVID test, from one of their approved testing sites, to get off the plane in Hawaii. Paris

So here is a look at our trip to Paris.  It might be more than most of you care to read!  I just copied and pasted emails we sent home while on our trip.  This is more for my benefit than anyone else's since this blog is the closest I have come to keeping a journal.  Hope you enjoy the journey- we sure did! View from our Seine River Cruise Day One We have the tiniest little room way up at the very top of a very narrow skinny hotel. It reminds us of the love dungeon (our first basement apartment) but it is up at the top so we called it our "love tower"! The bed is a double and you can only stand up straight in the room if you are standing on Scott's side of the bed! The tub is half size (I think they made it for Napoleon).  But I slept great. Memorable highlights and sayings from 2007

January Highlight: Staying at our friends cabin up by Mt. St. Helens. Just a quick drive up the mountain and we had plenty of snow for sledding and great views of St. Helens. January Quote: Scott and I were in the car with Cassidy. I was complaining about how tired I had been. It didn't see m to matter if I slept 4 hours or 8 hours, I always felt tired. Cassidy who had been relatively quiet up till this point pipes up and says, "maybe you are going through menopause."
