Free Chalupas!

A Blazers game, a win and free Chalupas for family home evening....the church is true!!!

All the stars lined up just right so that we could go to a Blazers game for FHE this week. Will won a free ticket from being a good reader at school, Karsyn's gymnastics was cancelled and the girls had late school start the next morning without any early morning seminary! Plus, we had to do something to balance out all the Jazz propoganda the boys took in while in Utah for a week!


The game ball drop. They start the game ball at the very top row (close to where we were sitting!) and pass it down until it makes it to the court.
The National Anthem
I can't remember her name, but this is the girl that sang the National Anthem. She is in the Broadway musical "Dream Girls" that is in town this week. This was a nice sneak peak for all us girls since we will be seeing that show in just a few days!
Will was so serious about the whole game. My favorite moment of the night was after the Blazers made a 3-pointer. Will leaned over to Scott and said, "I just said, 'Make a 3-pointer' and they did! I could be the coach!"
It was a close game but somehow the Blazers pulled it off, even with all of their starters out injured. It was hard to tell if the kids were more excited about the win, or the fact that they got free chalupas from Taco Bell because the team scored 100 points!

Gosh, all we get from Taco Bell is a free crunchy taco but only if the Jazz block 6 shots.
This game was a great win for the Blazers. Definitely a fun FHE !

Heather sends us at least one vacation deal to look at each month. In September 2020 she showed us a sale on airfare to Hawaii over Scott's birthday. We had such a fun time there in January 2020 that it didn't take us long to commit and we booked airfare to Maui. We soon realized we couldn't find any affordable lodging in Maui that also offered free cancellation. Generous cancellation policies are definitely a must in these crazy COVID times. Heather found a good deal on lodging in Kauai so we changed our airfare from Maui to Kauai. Yes! Everything was finalized! Well that was until it was declared that all visitors to Hawaii would be required to show a negative COVID test, from one of their approved testing sites, to get off the plane in Hawaii. Paris

So here is a look at our trip to Paris.  It might be more than most of you care to read!  I just copied and pasted emails we sent home while on our trip.  This is more for my benefit than anyone else's since this blog is the closest I have come to keeping a journal.  Hope you enjoy the journey- we sure did! View from our Seine River Cruise Day One We have the tiniest little room way up at the very top of a very narrow skinny hotel. It reminds us of the love dungeon (our first basement apartment) but it is up at the top so we called it our "love tower"! The bed is a double and you can only stand up straight in the room if you are standing on Scott's side of the bed! The tub is half size (I think they made it for Napoleon).  But I slept great. The weather was amazing! After getting in it was too early to get our room so we left our bags at the hotel and walked around for about an hour while waiting to meet up with the Parkers again. Memorable highlights and sayings from 2007

January Highlight: Staying at our friends cabin up by Mt. St. Helens. Just a quick drive up the mountain and we had plenty of snow for sledding and great views of St. Helens. January Quote: Scott and I were in the car with Cassidy. I was complaining about how tired I had been. It didn't see m to matter if I slept 4 hours or 8 hours, I always felt tired. Cassidy who had been relatively quiet up till this point pipes up and says, "maybe you are going through menopause." Scot t and I started laughing and then Cassi dy admitted she didn't even know what that meant, she had just heard it in "F ather the Bride II".
