Hangin' in Harlem

Scott and I got the boys tickets to the Harlem Globe Trotters for Christmas. I remember seeing them when I was about their age and loving it! I was excited to go see them again as well. But as it got closer to the event we realized we had a scheduling conflict. Kennedy and Cassidy had a dance competition reschedule for the same day as the Glode Trotters. I really hated to miss their competition and that also meant that everyone would be somewhere that day except for Karsyn. So, being the wonderful, loving and self-less mother that I am, I gave my ticket to Karsyn. So glad I did because I think she ended up enjoying the game more than anybody!



Layton came prepared to be called into the game in case there were any last minute injuries!

A few highlights from the game were when one player took a purse from a lady in the crowd and another player was "pantsed" and was wearing a pink skirt on under his shorts.
From looking at their pictures I am wondering when and if they ever played basketball!


Layton got Moo Moo's autograph on his headband and Karsyn got Spark to sign their program.

Glad to see the globe trotters are still entertaining and that Layton remembered his true love for the Jazz by wearing his Jazz headband along with his Blazers jersey.

Heather sends us at least one vacation deal to look at each month. In September 2020 she showed us a sale on airfare to Hawaii over Scott's birthday. We had such a fun time there in January 2020 that it didn't take us long to commit and we booked airfare to Maui. We soon realized we couldn't find any affordable lodging in Maui that also offered free cancellation. Generous cancellation policies are definitely a must in these crazy COVID times. Heather found a good deal on lodging in Kauai so we changed our airfare from Maui to Kauai. Yes! Everything was finalized! Well that was until it was declared that all visitors to Hawaii would be required to show a negative COVID test, from one of their approved testing sites, to get off the plane in Hawaii. Paris

So here is a look at our trip to Paris.  It might be more than most of you care to read!  I just copied and pasted emails we sent home while on our trip.  This is more for my benefit than anyone else's since this blog is the closest I have come to keeping a journal.  Hope you enjoy the journey- we sure did! View from our Seine River Cruise Day One We have the tiniest little room way up at the very top of a very narrow skinny hotel. It reminds us of the love dungeon (our first basement apartment) but it is up at the top so we called it our "love tower"! The bed is a double and you can only stand up straight in the room if you are standing on Scott's side of the bed! The tub is half size (I think they made it for Napoleon).  But I slept great. Memorable highlights and sayings from 2007

January Highlight: Staying at our friends cabin up by Mt. St. Helens. Just a quick drive up the mountain and we had plenty of snow for sledding and great views of St. Helens. January Quote: Scott and I were in the car with Cassidy. I was complaining about how tired I had been. It didn't see m to matter if I slept 4 hours or 8 hours, I always felt tired. Cassidy who had been relatively quiet up till this point pipes up and says, "maybe you are going through menopause." Scot t and I started laughing and then Cassi dy admitted she didn't even know what that meant, she had just heard it in "F ather the Bride II".
