Happy Birthday Scott!

Scott had a pre-birthday celebration this year. The kids were all over town at different activites on the night of his birthday so we celebrated a day early. Afterwards, he commented that this was his best "pre-birthday" ever! The evening started with a homemade shrimp and steak dinner and followed up by a banana-chocolate cake.
Then the kids gave him a package of Reece's Pieces. The bag said, "We love you to "pieces", and this is why..." Then inside the bag the kids had written the many reasons why the love their dad. Being the sentimental guy that he is, this was Scott's favorite part of the night. Here is a list of the many reasons why they love their dad:

Kennedy's List

He has a sense of humor (made it clear, she did
NOT say "good" sense of humor)
He is a hard worker
He wants to see us succeed
Although he won't admit it, he knows deep down that his eldest daughter is hilarious!
He taught us all the dance moves we know...hmmmm....
He forced me to study all day long but in the end he helped me so I could pass the AP Biology exam. I would had failed it without his help!
He is "pretty proud" of me (quoted him directly from the other night)
He will miss me wayyy too much once I graduate!
He supports me in making good decisions in life
He is very strict! But that just shows how much he loves me!
He reminds me how he loves me on a regular basis
He goes to help work on our "Wicked" props for dance team
He lets me make fun of him in exchange for him making fun of me (i.e. gray hair, listening to talk radio like old people etc.)
He takes us on fun trips like Arizona where I can get a tan
And I just pretty much LOVE YOU, it's as simple as that!


Cassidy's List:

The funniest thing about the night was Will. All the kids were wound up that night and we were all having a rowdy good time but Will was just plain spastic! If you will notice, he ended up in everybodies personal photo with dad! After Scott opened up a gift from someone I tried to take a picture of just them andscott, but then out of nowhere...Will would pop in and end up in the photo!

Happy Birthday Scott and belated to you Heidi fro the FRazierS . I'm not sure if this will make you feel better but I LOVE talk radio and have a lot more gray hair than you do!

Heather sends us at least one vacation deal to look at each month. In September 2020 she showed us a sale on airfare to Hawaii over Scott's birthday. We had such a fun time there in January 2020 that it didn't take us long to commit and we booked airfare to Maui. We soon realized we couldn't find any affordable lodging in Maui that also offered free cancellation. Generous cancellation policies are definitely a must in these crazy COVID times. Heather found a good deal on lodging in Kauai so we changed our airfare from Maui to Kauai. Yes! Everything was finalized! Well that was until it was declared that all visitors to Hawaii would be required to show a negative COVID test, from one of their approved testing sites, to get off the plane in Hawaii. Paris

So here is a look at our trip to Paris.  It might be more than most of you care to read!  I just copied and pasted emails we sent home while on our trip.  This is more for my benefit than anyone else's since this blog is the closest I have come to keeping a journal.  Hope you enjoy the journey- we sure did! View from our Seine River Cruise Day One We have the tiniest little room way up at the very top of a very narrow skinny hotel. It reminds us of the love dungeon (our first basement apartment) but it is up at the top so we called it our "love tower"! The bed is a double and you can only stand up straight in the room if you are standing on Scott's side of the bed! The tub is half size (I think they made it for Napoleon).  But I slept great. The weather was amazing! After getting in it was too early to get our room so we left our bags at the hotel and walked around for about an hour while waiting to meet up with the Parkers again. Memorable highlights and sayings from 2007

January Highlight: Staying at our friends cabin up by Mt. St. Helens. Just a quick drive up the mountain and we had plenty of snow for sledding and great views of St. Helens. January Quote: Scott and I were in the car with Cassidy. I was complaining about how tired I had been. It didn't see m to matter if I slept 4 hours or 8 hours, I always felt tired. Cassidy who had been relatively quiet up till this point pipes up and says, "maybe you are going through menopause." Scot t and I started laughing and then Cassi dy admitted she didn't even know what that meant, she had just heard it in "F ather the Bride II".
