Homecoming Highlight

The girl's High School Dance Team performed at the homecoming football game.  Just like last year, the girls needed to find a boy to be their dance partner.  It could be their dad, boyfriend, a friend, little brother...didn't matter as long as they had a partner.  Well, of course, my girls would never pick to dance with their dad (they are afraid he might show them up!), and too shy to invite a boy their age, so they asked their brothers.  Layton and Will were so excited to dance at the game.  In fact, Scott was a little concerned at how excited they were to go dance.  He had a big pep talk with Will before the performance.  The talk was not about his upcoming dance, but about this being the last time he would be dancing on the field.  He kept pumping him up that the next time he would be on the field would be because he was playing football!  Will did a good job agreeing to that when Scott was around but later he told us he loved it and wanted to be a dancer...but not the cheerleading kind!

Will stole the show!  First thing he had to do was run onto the field.  Nothing fancy, just run onto the field.  But he knew he had to be fast to make it all the way to Kennedy at the 50 yard line.  Afterwards, her told us he thinks he ran too fast!  He tripped and went diving head first across the field.  Not a good way to start out.  But he recovered quickly and kept right on dancing.  Then Kennedy has a moment where she picks him up and he kicks his feet high in the air.  If you look closely you will see his left shoe go flying through the air.  Then the very nice boy behind him stops dancing to pick it up and throw it back to him.  He tries to put the shoe on, but like a true professional, realizes props are only second to the performance and the show must go on!  Then he gets a little disoriented on the dawg walk when the boys change directions.  The audience was going wild for Will!  They loved him!  He on the other hand was not happy about his performance.  We tried to cheer him up by explaining that he was the highlight of the night and people loved him.  However he didn't care.  All he said was, "this was the one time I was trying so hard to be serious though".

Kennedy is in the white shirt near the 50 yard line.  Watch for Will as he comes crashing onto the field!  Oh yeah, and Cassidy and Layton are in this performance too!  Cassidy is in a red shirt to the left and one row behind Kennedy.

There is a lot of Scott laughter and enjoyment in that video for someone so opposed to his sons dancing!

Will's entrance was perfect!
