Cheer Camp 2009
Kennedy just finished running her 4th year of Cheer Camp at our house. And this was Cassidy's first year to join on as an instructor. It has been fun to watch her little business grow. She had 24 girls sign up this year without even having to advertise! They are all girls from years before or word of mouth referrals. The hardest part of Cheer Camp is finding at least one week all four girls are home and available to teach. Each year we have felt lucky to find even one week. Unfortunately, that means that there are always several girls that have to miss out on Camp due to family vacations. Everything went great this year outside of the fact that it was the hottest week of the year. Four of the five days of camp were well over 100 degrees! We told this girls they could come in swimsuits if they wanted and we kept a sprinkler running all morning for them to run through every so often. Fortunately for the parents, the temperature finally dropped back into the 90's for the final Parent Showcase on the last day.
The entire Cheer Camp
The girls were divided into three different age groups and given a team name, colors and Mascot. Then as a team they would rotate through the three different stations each day together. These are pictures of the the instructors with each individual team.
Kennedy taught the team and group dances. Chandler and Cassidy did stunts and Kelsi did taught the cheers. Then the girls would have a craft station each day as well. They made team banners, and decorated megaphones and bandanas, which they wore for the parent showcase.
Cassidy really had fun getting to know all these adorable little girls.
The girls got to be all glittered-up by the instructors before their parent showcase on Friday.
Showtime!!! Waiting in line for the show to begin!

The parents love watching the showcase. The dads get off work, grandmas come to town and video cameras are a rolling! The only complaint we ever hear is that they wish the could do it more than once each year! Congratulations Kennedy to another successful year of camp!
