Bear Lake

I drove the kids and the dog out to Utah the week before Education Week to have some down time with the family.  The first thing on our family bonding agenda was Bear Lake.  We had such a great time but with 20 grandkids all staying in one house there is no "down time"!  We were able to stay in a huge 10 bedroom home that my brother's company owns.  The house came complete with a small boat, 4-wheelers and wave-riders.  The house sits right on the lake with only a short walk to reach to the water.  Heather and Gavin also brought up their ski boat so there was no shortage of things to do.

Grandma and Grandpa with all their grandkids except for two sleeping babies.
This is what I did both days.  After so much driving and sitting in a single position for so long I did something to my back.  It hurt without even moving.  So I spent that first week on pain pills and ice packs.
The men spent their entire first day playing in the sand!  They somehow managed to get every vehicle, boat and toy stuck in the sand.  After about an hour of digging things out with their hands they took our advice and borrowed the sand shovels from the kids.

The kids spent most their time digging in the sand as well.  They were determined to make their own hot tub.

The proud grandparents!

No day at Bear Lake is complete until you have your Raspberry Shake!
Will even got a visit from the tooth fairy while we were at Bear Lake!
We had one afternoon with all 20 grandkids at the lake.  Well, of course that means picture time!  They all look so sweet and lovable in this photo. Oh, if pictures could talk...wait...the video clip below says it all!

I feel like I lived this trip through your blog. Oh wait...I did live this trip. And it was a good time for all of us, except those that got to sit next to Morgan. Poor Will. Next time when your back doesn't hurt we'll have to get out on the boat too and show the kids how it's really done. Or something like that.

What a great if not relaxing few days we had. The cousins got to know each other so much better. Thanks again to everyone for pitching in and helping. The house was perfect for such a big group...thanks Chad for making it possible and supplying so many toys and to Gavin for patiently taking so many kids out for tubing and boat rides.
