Second time is a charm!
She is official! Kennedy is driving (and legally too after 2 weeks of driving with an expired permit!) This was a difficult experience for Kennedy. She is used to breezing by in school, dance, sports, basically whatever she does. But driving has kept her humble! She had to take the written driving test twice to pass. Of course she had told everyone at school she was going to go to take her test and then had to explain to them all that she didn't pass. That was all the motivation she needed to study like crazy for the next time around. Then I went and picked her up early the second to last day of school to go take her driving test. She was so confident and excited that she would be driving herself to school on her last day that she once again let everyone know she was going to get her license. Well, it turns out that the second time is a charm for Kennedy when it comes to driving! She didn't pass the driving test the first time either. The only difference being they make you wait one week before you can take the test again. Well, she was out of town for the next 10 days so she had to wait two weeks before going back for her second try. Parellel parking is what kept her from passing the first time around. Scott took her out for some more intense parking practice and she did it perfect during her second test. This gave her what they called at the DOL a "frame-able score" of 92.
So congratulations to Kennedy for passing her test and congratulations to me for no more driving to early morning seminary or picking up girls from after school dance practices! And while I am at it, a big congratulations to Kennedy for passing both her AP exams this year, Biology and World History! That makes three AP class credits by the end of her sophomore year! See, she succeeds in most things the first time around!
