The Mysterious Ticking Noise

We had a movie fundraiser night for our Ward this week.  The Liberty theater in Camas donated their theater for one showing of the new Harry Potter movie.  We sold the tickets for this one showing and the theater donated a portion of each sale.  This money is used to help the youth pay for their church camps this summer.  The Bishopric wanted to do something to help motivate the Ward to sell tickets.  They sent out an email stating that if we can sell over 250 tickets, the Bishopric would do some sort of Harry Potter rap before the movie.  

I remember my kids watching this Harry Potter puppet rap on Youtube over and over again a few months ago and laughing at it everytime.  I figured if it made my kids laugh it should make a theater of kids laugh as well!  So we recruited the Bishopric, the Elder's Quorum President and the Relief Society Pres. to do a spoof on this puppet video live at the theater before the movie began.  We pulled together costumes the night before and with about a 30 minute dress rehearsal they were ready to go live!

Heather sends us at least one vacation deal to look at each month. In September 2020 she showed us a sale on airfare to Hawaii over Scott's birthday. We had such a fun time there in January 2020 that it didn't take us long to commit and we booked airfare to Maui. We soon realized we couldn't find any affordable lodging in Maui that also offered free cancellation. Generous cancellation policies are definitely a must in these crazy COVID times. Heather found a good deal on lodging in Kauai so we changed our airfare from Maui to Kauai. Yes! Everything was finalized! Well that was until it was declared that all visitors to Hawaii would be required to show a negative COVID test, from one of their approved testing sites, to get off the plane in Hawaii. Paris

So here is a look at our trip to Paris.  It might be more than most of you care to read!  I just copied and pasted emails we sent home while on our trip.  This is more for my benefit than anyone else's since this blog is the closest I have come to keeping a journal.  Hope you enjoy the journey- we sure did! View from our Seine River Cruise Day One We have the tiniest little room way up at the very top of a very narrow skinny hotel. It reminds us of the love dungeon (our first basement apartment) but it is up at the top so we called it our "love tower"! The bed is a double and you can only stand up straight in the room if you are standing on Scott's side of the bed! The tub is half size (I think they made it for Napoleon).  But I slept great. January Highlight: Staying at our friends cabin up by Mt. St. Helens. Just a quick drive up the mountain and we had plenty of snow for sledding and great views of St. Helens. January Quote: Scott and I were in the car with Cassidy. I was complaining about how tired I had been. It didn't see m to matter if I slept 4 hours or 8 hours, I always felt tired. Cassidy who had been relatively quiet up till this point pipes up and says, "maybe you are going through menopause."
