Decorated Dancers


Kennedy and Cassidy survived their first High School Dance Camp together!  They both had a great time and came home happy and exhausted.  Camp ends with about a two hour showcase for the parents.  This is when the girls get to show off the dances they learned all week and special awards are handed out.  Both girls came home with several awards and very proud of their hard work.  The staff gives out a performance trophy after each dance.  They choose one girl that they felt did an outstanding job during the parent showcase and give her a trophy.  Both Kennedy and Cassidy were chosen for their dances.  Then they give out a special award to recognize one girl that stood out to them the entire week.  Once again, both Kennedy and Cassidy were given this award!  Then, as if that wasn't enough to send her straight to cloud 9, Kennedy was also chosen to be part of the All Star Dance Team.  This team  of 15-20 girls is chosen from about 400 dancers and consists mostly of Seniors.  This has been Kennedy's goal for when she was a senior so to receive it as a junior was overwhelming.  She said afterwards that this was the best day of her life!  Congratulations girls - you are both such beautiful dancers and worked so hard for this recognition!

Congratulations to both Kennedy and Cassidy. They both seem to have inherited their Mom's dancing ability. Also nice to have something in common as sisters. We will be anxious for a demonstration in a few weeks here in Utah.

Heather sends us at least one vacation deal to look at each month. In September 2020 she showed us a sale on airfare to Hawaii over Scott's birthday. We had such a fun time there in January 2020 that it didn't take us long to commit and we booked airfare to Maui. We soon realized we couldn't find any affordable lodging in Maui that also offered free cancellation. Generous cancellation policies are definitely a must in these crazy COVID times. Heather found a good deal on lodging in Kauai so we changed our airfare from Maui to Kauai. Yes! Everything was finalized! Well that was until it was declared that all visitors to Hawaii would be required to show a negative COVID test, from one of their approved testing sites, to get off the plane in Hawaii. Paris

So here is a look at our trip to Paris.  It might be more than most of you care to read!  I just copied and pasted emails we sent home while on our trip.  This is more for my benefit than anyone else's since this blog is the closest I have come to keeping a journal.  Hope you enjoy the journey- we sure did! View from our Seine River Cruise Day One We have the tiniest little room way up at the very top of a very narrow skinny hotel. It reminds us of the love dungeon (our first basement apartment) but it is up at the top so we called it our "love tower"! The bed is a double and you can only stand up straight in the room if you are standing on Scott's side of the bed! The tub is half size (I think they made it for Napoleon).  But I slept great. The weather was amazing! After getting in it was too early to get our room so we left our bags at the hotel and walked around for about an hour while waiting to meet up with the Parkers again. Memorable highlights and sayings from 2007

January Highlight: Staying at our friends cabin up by Mt. St. Helens. Just a quick drive up the mountain and we had plenty of snow for sledding and great views of St. Helens. January Quote: Scott and I were in the car with Cassidy. I was complaining about how tired I had been. It didn't see m to matter if I slept 4 hours or 8 hours, I always felt tired. Cassidy who had been relatively quiet up till this point pipes up and says, "maybe you are going through menopause." Scot t and I started laughing and then Cassi dy admitted she didn't even know what that meant, she had just heard it in "F ather the Bride II".
