Scout or Scout Leader?

I took the three youngest kids to go see the new movie "UP" in 3-D yesterday.  The boys have been waiting an entire year to go see this movie.  We were invited to go preview this movie last year while it was still not completed.  At that time half the movie was in still pictures and black and white.  The kids really enjoyed seeing it in it's finished production.  I think Russell, the Wilderness Explorer boy in the movie really inspired my boys.
Layton has been using his new pocket knife that his dad bought him (without mom's permission) to wittle away on a tree branch.
Then all afternoon today, Layton has been acting as Scout Master to Will.  After finding him a blue shirt to act as his Scout uniform, he spent all day helping Will pass off certain merit badges.  Will was so proud of himself for getting 4 badges in one day!  I thought it was so cute how Layton made the badge and taped them on his shirt.

So now Will is the proud owner of 4 merit badges:  Hiking, Running, Cars, and Electricty.  I am thinking I should make a special badge for Layton titled "World's Youngest Scout Master".

That is too cute! Sounds like something my girls would have done at that age if they had lived in a "scouting" world. Their make-believe was more like, "I'll be the teacher, and you'll be the student." or, "I'll be the mommy, and you'll be the baby."

I wonder if Layton is in for 30 years of scouting like grandpa?

Good to get his training in early!
We know he is qualified in any and all fields.
