Nothing says "I love you" like homemade
Happy Mother's Day to me! Once again the fam did me right. I woke up to the pitter-patter of little feet scurrying around the kitchen trying to make me breakfast. Years ago this would had been breakfast in bed but now-a-days I get to join the rest of the family at the table. When the kids were first old enough to help make me breakfast, Scott and the kids would bring me my tray of food then he would quickly rush the kids out of my room and close the door behind him...leaving me completely isolated and so alone! I felt like I had been punished and had been sent to time out! I finally got the heart to tell him that it wasn't much fun to sit and eat alone in my room while I could hear them out in the kitchen visiting and having fun. So, I enjoyed pancakes, eggs, sausage, bacon, fruit and orange juice surrounded by my family this Mother's Day.
Karsyn, Cassidy, Kennedy, Will, Me and Layton
Now I do recognize those kids!
Scott got me some great Mother's Day gifts but my favorites are always those homemade gifts from the little ones. Layton made me this Star Wars hot pad and wrote me an awesome poem! It does rhyme, I'll have to give him that much and really, what mom doesn't have to pay when it comes to cleaning up after their kids spent all morning cooking?
Will came up with a very creative gift idea all by himself. With nothing more than some paper, a marker and some scotch tape, he whipped me out one cool "Bobble Head" of himself! And once again, he insisted on holding some object in the photo that had no purpose.
Thanks to my sweet husband and loving kids for a great day! Truth be told, they make many many days of the year seem like Mother's Day. I love you all!
