Kennedy, Kellie and Taylor

Kennedy has been wanting to go to her first concert for some time now.  The only thing better than going to a concert would be a country music concert!  Her 16th birthday just happened to be the same week that Taylor Swift was in town for a concert.  I knew the minute I heard it announced on the radio what I was going to give her for her 16th birthday present.  The problem is that 9 out of 10 times when you try to surprise Kennedy with something, she doesn't like it!  I was so relieved when she screamed for excitement when I showed her the concert tickets.  Not only was it a cool gift, but I was a cool mom because I also made sure mine and Scott's tickets were not anywhere near her's!  She also went to the concert with three of her friends.  They had just as much fun getting ready for the concert as being at the concert.

Kellie Pickler opened for Talyor.  I was a little worried after seeing her awful performance on American Idol but she was great!  I was just disappointed she didn't wear any Red High Heels!

Taylor was amazing live!  She put on quite the performance and talked to the audience as if we were all high school age girls.  I could totally relate because I am still so close to high school age but Scott found it a little more difficult to relate!

This is Taylor flipping her hair all around and dancing while playing the piano.  I told Kennedy I wanted to see the same thing at her next piano recital.  After that performance just playing a song on the piano is mighty boring!

You and Scott are pretty 'cool' parent's...What a great 16th birthday present...and by the way, I don't think I have ever seen 4 young women as beautiful as Kennedy and her friends!

my kids went to her concert and loved it. they were also surprised that Kellie Pickler was as good as she was! I love checking in on you and your family. We've come a long way since scrapbooking days.
