Run, Run as Fast as You Can!

Grandma-Grandma, Grandpa and Uncle Blake flew into town for a few days to visit us before Christmas.  My kids have come to associate Christmas and Grandma with Gingerbread men.  Even though grandma had done nothing other than make gingerbread men at home for a solid week for an entire Ward Christmas party, she still made them here with my kids.  Only a grandma would do that - I know I wouldn't!

Grandma flew home on the originally-scheduled flight, but grandpa and Uncle Blake decided to stay an extra day to see Karsyn's first gymnastics meet of the season up in Seattle.  Well, that was about the same time we got hit with the biggest snow storm in 40 years!  Grandpa and Blake couldn't get out of town until one week later on Christmas Eve!  My kids couldn't had been happier if Santa himself had come to spend the week!  Grandpa is really cool but Uncle Blake is da bomb!

This is a poem my mom's friend wrote for her while she was home alone, wondering if she would see her husband and son again before Christmas:

"Twas the nite before Christmas,
outside there was fog,
no one was in the house except Mrs. Jazz and the dog.
Santa and his elf were stuck in the sky,
all ready to come home but unable to fly."

Can you believe I just ate the last of my Gingerbread Men? I have eaten so many they don't even taste good any more, but I just can't stop.
I hope the kids are always anxious to make the Gingerbread Men with me. I look forward to it each year.
Also, great picture of Dad and Blake!
