So this is what it's like!

Yesterday was just a great day.  I only had to be in the car for 4 little trips with the kids which meant I was home almost all day.  I can't remember the last time I got to stay home for more than an hour at a time during the day!  I LOVE being a "stay-at-home" mom!  It rocks!  It is so much better than a "stay-in-the-car" mom.  I got to clean house, and was actually so excited about it!  I had dinner made by noon, just like I used to do in the good old days when I was a stay-at-home mom.  I got to play games with Will and we made and decorated sugar cookies.  Will had so much fun having his mommy all to himself all day.  He couldn't keep from hugging and kissing me every 5 minutes and telling me constantly how I was the best mommy in the whole world!  At one point he said to me all excited, "Mommy, I think this is the best day of my whole life!"  Wow!  All I felt like we really did was make some cookies but to him it was so much more.  It is always a good reminder to see how easy it is to please these little kids and the best way to spoil them is with our time and attention.  Will and I spend plenty of time together but driving kids around all day.  It meant so much to him to have my attention focused on him as a person and not just getting to another event.  And it isn't just about quantity either, but taking advantage of just a few minutes here and there to show them that they are your focus for the moment.  I could totally get used to being a true stay at home mom, but the sad part is that by the time that happens nobody will be home with me!  I am recommitted to following the advice that I see each day hanging on my kitchen wall (courtesy of my sister) of "SIMPLIFY"!  That and praying that Kennedy passes her drivers test first time around this coming spring!

I am just feelin' the love right now! Unfortuantely, I am in the stay-at-home with no kids phase of life. It is very sad. The worst part is when I am lonely, I go searching for chocolate to console myself! Therefore the "Thanks a lot Stacy" post. Oh well!!!

I guess you have to be away from home to realize the benefits of being a "stay at home" mom! I could clean all day but...why??? So we just hang out! I like being a hermit!

Good for you...it's so true, and sad, that we let life's madness get in the way of the simple things they truly appreciate. You are obviously an amazing mom!!
