The Doctor is in

The doctor is in....and making house calls!  Scott informed me this afternoon that he wanted me to assist him on a surgery.  Yeah right!  He is so funny!  Thinking that I, the woman who faints not only at the site of blood but also at just the thought that there might possibly be blood could help him!  But he wasn't kidding.  For a couple years now our dog Bailey has had some lumps growing on her back and side.  Scott did a biopsy of one of the lumps last year and it came back benign.  But recently one of the lumps has really grown, and so has our concern so Scott was anxious to remove it.  Bailey was such a trooper through it all.  She is not leaving her cone on so we are having a hard time keeping her away from her stitches.  Scott had to redo one stitch already tonight.  So if anyone has any ideas to help her heal, please let me know!

This is how Cassidy and I helped hold her down during the surgery.

I'm with you and Cassidy. ICK! I close my eyes through all medical dramas, too, when they show any close-up of surgeries.

i did not realize that scott has had to resort to house calls much less DOG surgery - i guess people get desperate when the economy is at rock bottom - HA!

Be careful. I thought you would have learned your lesson after Sambo went septic. Oh wait...dad wasn't a surgeon. I keep getting allergist and surgeon confused (and so did he! Ha!)! Keep us posted on the biospsy results! Does Scott have a microbiology lab in the house too?

I hope things are okay with Bailey. I am not sure we will be coming for Thanksgiving if we are eating on the operating table!!!!
