NCS Picnic

Scott's group had their annual picnic party this past weekend.  This is always a great day of fun with lots of big bouncy house toys, slides, rock walls, puppet shows, races and games.

I have to include this picture of Scott climbing the rock wall since that was his sole motivation to climb it.  He said he was going to climb that wall and we had better take his picture because he wanted to be included in the blog.  He did make it to the top so we did vote him to be blog-worthy.
You might be a red-neck if this is your idea of bathing your kids!
After the picnic we walked down to a small beach area along the Columbia River.  The idea was to "get a closer look" at the river but within a few minutes half the kids were soaking wet and covered in sand.  We soon realized that the boys had gone swimming in the sewage section of the river - boy did they stink!  I mean like a swimming in a poopy diaper for a week stink!  All I could think was, "oh no, I just went from stinking rat carcass car to human feces car".  As soon as we got home Scott had Will strip down in the driveway and then he squirted him off with the hose.  Then I had the boys get in the bath and had to make them change the water mid-way through because the bath water was so smelly!  So all in all, a good but smelly day!

You are nice! Usually when things stink around here I just throw them out!

I love the hose pictures. It looks a little painful. I wasn't sure if you stopped by the firehouse for that shower. How gross though that you let them swim in a toilet! And I love how Scott is getting into the blog thing. Doing something just for the picture on the blog. Cassidy cracks me up with finishing the wall just because she was threatened with dog poop!
Hmm, well . . . that's boys for ya. You would think they would have been able to smell the stench from the water BEFORE getting in it, but like I said, that's boys for ya!
