A Moment of Silence please...

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved Honda Civic.
Honda is survived by it's original owner, Scott, and it's current owner, Heidi with their 5 children.  Honda was born and raised in Kansas City, Missouri.  As a young adult, Honda moved to Kentucky where he enjoyed long drives of tree-laden streets overlooking green horse farms.  Growing tired of seeing horses with more horse-power than itself, Honda decided to  become a city boy again by moving to the NW.  Honda was very active in his community.  He could often be seen at soccer games, gymnastics meets, piano lessons, dance classes, karate class, ice-skating rinks, art classes, swim lessons, church and school activities. Honda's whole life was given to serving others.  He never complained all those years that Scott parked him up against that chain that rubbed his back end raw.  He never complained about receiving someone elses treatment of wart-removing acid and then getting a tattoo artist to try and hide the scar.  When a budding new artist discovered a new art form called, "Melted Crayon Art" in his back seat, his only comment was, "Those are my favorite colors".  When someone hit him in the parking lot of Goodwill, goodwill was all he had for that poor unfortunate soul.  He had no intentions of seeking restitution for this misunderstanding.  Honda stepped to the plate when someone was needed to help Kennedy learn to drive.  Even after seeing how bad she hurt his BFF, Suburban, he willingly gave of his time and expertise.  In death, just as in life, Honda continues to go on serving.  He has asked that his remains be donated to further the study of science, in particular, the Kidney Foundation.  Even though no one could ever agree on what color Honda was, everyone will agree that he leaves a legacy that will be hard to follow (but we are willing to give a newer, younger version a try!)

What a great and loving tribute! I would have never thought of doing a post like that. Very creative and funny. It made me a little sad for the ole' guy!

It was with a heavy heart many times that I too have had to say good bye to our cars, especially our big red van. It served us well and also many scout troops for many years.
We will now miss the Civic as well!

Heidi, that post was so funny! And boy could I ever identify with the "melted crayon" artwork! We currently have some displayed on our driveway!
Hasta,
Julie
