I left my heart in San Francisco

I went for a "Girls Weekend" to San Francisco over Labor Day. There were four of us: my sister, her sister-in-law and one of my friends from church. Can you just say perfect timing, perfect company, perfect weather and perfect city for four worn-out moms! My sister already blogged about some of the lessons she learned that weekend.  I thought her blog said it all but apparantly she thinks I might have something else to add to the wisdom gained on this trip, so Heather, this is for you!

I learned that somewhere in her BC (before children) life, my mother was a portrait model.
I think she really even had that exact same dress!

I learned that like my mother, I too can be swindled into buying pineapple juice in hopes of getting a killer deal from foreigners off the street.  This "Delux" tour bus "Sux"!  Hence, it became known as our own personal "pineapple express".  Also learned not to mess with the Russian Mafia family

I learned you can take the mother away from the children but you can't take the mother away from the "children's department".

I learned not to get soo into the "pineapple express" tour of "as you can see that is a hotel on the left, and that is a park in china town ("because there are chinese people at the park, you know it is in China town"), and the place where the tour guide likes to watch movies," so as to miss famous sites such as Lombard ST. and Alcatraz.
I learned that girls really do just wanna have fun!

I learned that Chicago stole the nickname of "Windy City" from San Francisco and they should give it back!

You can find anything you want in China town and for under $5.  Apparantly child labor laws aren't enforced in the United States within the bounds of any China Town.

I learned that biking is really fun when you actually go somewhere.  I don't know if I can ride the recumbant bike at the gym ever again!

I learned that you must be near this sign whenever you decide to bike up extremely steep hills all over San Francisco for three hours and then jump off your bike without cooling down.

I learned that shopping in cute boutiques can be just as fun as ROSS!
(not quite as cheap though!)

I learned that you can eat whatever you want, quilt-free when you only eat one meal a day.

Oh this makes me homesick for our trip! Rae did tell Jill that the trip was really fun but that the Stewart girls never eat! What great memories! I really think it was the perfect trip! How can we ever top this next time? Thanks for finally blogging about it. Good times!

That looks like fun!

I got an email from Julie Barson Salerno today. She said you ran into each other at Education week. Fun. I haven't seen here since I graduated. She started a blog. Did she send you the link?

What a nice get away. I actually kind of remember posing for that picture, but don't think I ever got paid for it!
Hopefully next year more of us can come.
