5 Kids, 5 Schools

I finally have all 5 kids back in school.  Kennedy is a sophomore with a drivers permit!  Wow, where did the time go?  She is on the High School Dance team again this year.  She also takes some studio dance classes at the same place where she teaches a boys hip-hop class once a week.

Cassidy is in 8th grade this year, making her one of the oldest at her Middle School.  She got braces the week before school started.  She is on a Sr. Competitive Dance team and will also start Middle School Dance Team in January.

Layton is in second grade.  He has the same teacher that Karysn had in second grade.  She used to be a portrait artist so it is a really good fit for Layton.  He is taking piano lessons, Karate, art classes and cub scouts.

Karsyn had a big change in her schooling this year.  It was getting too hard to miss half a day at school, do gymnastics 6 hours a day and then try to make up school work at night.  So this year she is being home schooled.  She goes to the homeschooling center three half days a week for most of her core classes.  Then I get to be her Social Studies and Technology teacher the other two days of the week.  We had our first day at home today.  We both really enjoyed the quiet time at home together and sharing ideas with each other.  We are studying our state of Washington this year.  I look forward to learning more about our new great state with her and going on some great fieldtrips.
Will is in pre-k this year.  He loves school but hates getting up in the mornings.  He is like his mommy, definitely not a morning person but can go forever at night.  He really hates waiting on his brother to get home at the end of each day but enjoys having something social to do in the mornings.

What great kids!  It has only been a few days into the school year and I already miss them.  Somehow life gets even crazier when they are all gone!   Still not sure quite how that works but everyone has to be on such a set schedule and stays so busy that I really miss those "busy and crazy" days of summer.

Nadia has got to stop this schooling nonsense! London 2012 is less than 4 years away. It's time to get her a corrected passport and step up the gymnastics to 12 hours a day.

And, I thought juggling between 3 schools was tough! Good luck. I know that for each child's activity there are many, many hours of taxing involved. :-)
