Salt Lake Marathon
You didn't really think I had actually RUN a marathon did you? Well, I felt like I had after this trip. But I am sure that you get a very similar feeling after running an actual marathon as I did after this trip...exhausted yet re-energized at the same time.
Lagoon Theme Park

We did our annual cousin day out at Lagoon. I enjoyed this a lot more than I thought I would. It was really fun for us this year since our kids are getting older and more independent. In fact, some of them are so independent I didn't even see them all day! The only problems we encountered were brought upon by my sweet husband! While riding the ride "Wicked" (yes, it goes upside down) he lost both his prescription sunglasses and his cell phone. We had to wait until the ride shut down for the night and go out with a flash light only to collect these shattered remains of his glasses and phone.

The ride Karsyn was forced to go on! She can do a back handspring
on a 4 inch beam but can't do the "Tidal Wave"!

Jordanelle Lake
My Sister and her husband took Cassidy and Karsyn boating one day.
They too discovered Karsyn's cowardness on fast rides!
Liberty Park
We all met up one night at Liberty Park for a picnic dinner and
watched the kids play on the playground and in the water features.

Birthday Shopping
The last thing we did just moments before leaving was take Layton to the store to pick out a set of nice leather scriptures. We always get the kids a nice set when they turn eight and get baptized. This is Layton reading them as soon as he got them back to grandma's house. Out of all the kids, Layton has been the most excited and ready to get his scriptures. He loves reading the scriptures, knows them so well and already has such a strong testimony of the Book of Mormon. He is a great example to all of us. I am always amazed at how many things we can learn from our children.
A big thanks to my parents and siblings for their help with my kids while we were there. Because of them Scott and I were able to spend the majority of our week up at BYU Education Week. It is always a hard week for us because we love our classes up at BYU but also love to spend time with family. Hopefully next year we can stay a little longer to take full advantage of both!

Your life is so busy. Hopefully, you and Heather can enjoy 'girl' time together and unwind a little.
Have fun in San Francisco!
