The "non-workout" workout

This seems to be my new exercise program...Wake up, dress to go the gym and then watch my plans fall apart. This is what has happened the last three times I planned to go exercise. Everyone seems to have a need that takes priority to my plans. So here is my question, If I am wearing the correct attire to have run a marathon and at the end of the day I feel like I have run a marathon, do I get all the benefits of running a marathon? I am just hoping that looking grungy and athletic all day burns more calories than looking freshly showered and hot!
