What not to Wear

Scott and I were headed out to some friends house tonight and this is the outfit he thought he was going to wear. He walked out wearing his dress slacks, nice shoes, leather belt and a mesh athletic top (yes, those are bright big orange "T"'s all over it) and on top of that, he had it all tucked in so nice to show off that dressy belt and pants! He couldn't see anything wrong with this! I am posting these pictures to get your opinion - let me know what you think....is he hopeless or was I just too hard on him??? Keep in mind, these pictures do not this outfit justice!

oh no! that shirt totally cracks me up & with the belt & shoes... i wonder if it is the 40+ issue - do we start losing our sense of style at age 40 or did he ever have style to lose? thanks for the giggle

Wait I have to explain- these are not dress slacks- they are 100: cotton khakis (in the south we substitute these for jeans). The shirt is a nice golf style shirt. I deferred to the women in the house and substituted the 4 pocket mexicna style shirt Shane brought me back from Puerto Rico. I think they wished they hadn't been so hard on my previous shirt.

Stacy & Clinton would have fun with this one... (I love that show!) Even here in the south, that's a bad outfit. Sorry, Scott. I have seen many men around here try to pull off Khakis like jeans, but it really doesn't work. Jeans would have looked so much better. Even some cargo shorts would work. I'd love to see a picture of the final shirt. (Of course, my first memory of Scott was him wearing a missionary white shirt that had a definite brown wash to it... Paraguay dirt had become part of that shirt.)

Donnie has been known to put together such outfits, too. His favorite used to be his Bjorn sandals with socks... And, he wasn't even 35 doing that! I'm doomed when he is officially an old man. I see black socks and shorts in his future...

I personally think the outfit is fine if you are going out with Shane and Julie but if you are going out with us.....well I'd have to ask you to change ;) Nathan has had his fair share of "send backs" from me too before a date. It's okay Scott we know you are doing your best!

I have always thought Scott's sense of fashion was a bit off! And Christy...I will deal with you later!
