Rose Festival and Dance Concert


Kennedy and Cassidy performed at the Rose Festival on the Riverfront in Portland for their Spring Dance Concert.  They performed both last night and tonight.  We had planned to go tonight as a family and watch the girls and then stay and have some fun on the rides.  Scott got stuck in surgery so he didn't make it.  We missed him but the kids still had a great time.  And yes, it is still wet and cold!  It poured all the way to the festival, stopped raining while we were there, and then started raining again a few minutes after we got in the car!  The girls did great as usual.  I ran out of tape on my video camera after a few performances, then switched to my camera to film and then my memory card was full before Kennedy's last performance.  I think the girls will put the videos up on their blogs soon so check in with them in the next few days.

After the girls performed we set off to go on some rides.  The oldest girls had their heart set on doing the Human Slingshot.  These pictures are of them just as they are getting ready to be shot way up in the air.  They loved it and all their friends were shocked that they had dared to do it!  Then the other kids got to pick three rides to go on.  They all really enjoyed themselves and came home with some free glow necklaces someone gave them and about 50 free trial size Aquafresh toothpastes.  I feel so good about this start to my one-year supply!  It was a great night and just wet our appetite for our annual trip to Lagoon this summer with our cousins.



















































Did I forget to mention they also gave away free clown noses?

Heather sends us at least one vacation deal to look at each month. In September 2020 she showed us a sale on airfare to Hawaii over Scott's birthday. We had such a fun time there in January 2020 that it didn't take us long to commit and we booked airfare to Maui. We soon realized we couldn't find any affordable lodging in Maui that also offered free cancellation. Generous cancellation policies are definitely a must in these crazy COVID times. Heather found a good deal on lodging in Kauai so we changed our airfare from Maui to Kauai. Yes! Everything was finalized! Well that was until it was declared that all visitors to Hawaii would be required to show a negative COVID test, from one of their approved testing sites, to get off the plane in Hawaii. Paris

So here is a look at our trip to Paris.  It might be more than most of you care to read!  I just copied and pasted emails we sent home while on our trip.  This is more for my benefit than anyone else's since this blog is the closest I have come to keeping a journal.  Hope you enjoy the journey- we sure did! View from our Seine River Cruise Day One We have the tiniest little room way up at the very top of a very narrow skinny hotel. It reminds us of the love dungeon (our first basement apartment) but it is up at the top so we called it our "love tower"! The bed is a double and you can only stand up straight in the room if you are standing on Scott's side of the bed! The tub is half size (I think they made it for Napoleon).  But I slept great. Memorable highlights and sayings from 2007

January Highlight: Staying at our friends cabin up by Mt. St. Helens. Just a quick drive up the mountain and we had plenty of snow for sledding and great views of St. Helens. January Quote: Scott and I were in the car with Cassidy. I was complaining about how tired I had been. It didn't see m to matter if I slept 4 hours or 8 hours, I always felt tired. Cassidy who had been relatively quiet up till this point pipes up and says, "maybe you are going through menopause." Scot t and I started laughing and then Cassi dy admitted she didn't even know what that meant, she had just heard it in "F ather the Bride II".
