We had a church party at
Lacamas Park in
Camas last week. We cooked out hamburgers and hot dogs, had an old-fashioned popcorn machine, cotton-candy machine, and
everyone's favorite, the
Sno-Cone machine. There were all sorts of County Fair games the kids could participate in; watermelon seed spitting contest, gunny-sac races and pie eating contests were just a few of the games there that night. Layton did the pie eating contest and took third place! Later that night when all the games were gone and the food almost all cleaned up, Will decided he wanted to do the pie eating contest too! So I grabbed him a piece of pie, put it on a plate, sat it down in front of him and looking at my watch yelled, "GO!". He immediately plunged his face straight into the pie and starting eating.
Anytime he would slow down I would pound on the table and yell, "Go, Go, Go" and he would get re-energized and go down for another bite. He never once complained that he was the only one in the contest! We found one last ribbon to award to him and he couldn't had been prouder!
