Father and Son's Campout

Scott took the boys on their annual Father/Son Campout this past weekend.  Jason Minor brought his two boys and after much coaxing, Shane even brought Andrew.  Shane was a little afraid of setting up his own tent and Bears, in that order!  They went camping up by Beacon rock and hiked up the rock the next morning.  They had a great time as usual and even stayed dry!  A few years ago Scott learned lesson #1 about camping in the NW:  "Never have a tarp under your tent that is larger than your tent".  One year they got poured on at night and his tarp only served as a large bowl to collect water in and they woke up in the middle of the night drenched and freezing.  This year they only had a little rain and managed to stay dry.  They all had a great time playing soccer, baseball, eating smores and pancakes having campfires and hiking, but their favorite thing was just hanging out together.  As Layton said the week before after Scott took the boys to the zoo, "I just like hangin' out with you Dad."

What a fun time and good memories for Scott and the boys. That is one more thing I love about Scott. He is so busy, but finds time to spend one on one with his kids. Oh and yes, glad to see that Layton got his 'Old Navy' sweat shirt washed. (Just an inside joke).
