Washington State Gymnastics Meet

What a great day!  Karsyn competed in Seattle at the level 6 State gymnastics meet.  

Vault - 9.05 (5th place)
Bars - 8.4
Beam - 9.25 (1st place)
Floor - 9.0 (7th place)
All Around - 35.70 (5th place)

She did great in every event but how exciting is it to take first place in any event for the whole state of Washington?  This was especially sweet for Karsyn to take first in Beam.  Beam has always been one of her stronger events but this year she has had several falls.  A fall off the beam is an automatic .5 deduction.  That might not sound like much but it is huge in gymnastics.  Last year at her level 5 state competition she also fell off the beam.  So this year she was determined to stay on that beam!  She put in a lot of extra practicing and it payed off!  We are so proud of her and all her accomplishments this season.  She is looking forward to moving up to level 7 now where she will have her own routines.  We are looking forward to hearing a new and varied selection of music at the level 7 meets!

Goodness Karsyn did so well. I hadn't heard from you, so thought maybe she didn't want to talk to me about the meet. Was I ever wrong!
I was just waiting to hear from her.
I loved watching the video. Not as great as being there, but almost!

Heather sends us at least one vacation deal to look at each month. In September 2020 she showed us a sale on airfare to Hawaii over Scott's birthday. We had such a fun time there in January 2020 that it didn't take us long to commit and we booked airfare to Maui. We soon realized we couldn't find any affordable lodging in Maui that also offered free cancellation. Generous cancellation policies are definitely a must in these crazy COVID times. Heather found a good deal on lodging in Kauai so we changed our airfare from Maui to Kauai. Yes! Everything was finalized! Paris

So here is a look at our trip to Paris.  It might be more than most of you care to read!  I just copied and pasted emails we sent home while on our trip.  This is more for my benefit than anyone else's since this blog is the closest I have come to keeping a journal.  Hope you enjoy the journey- we sure did! View from our Seine River Cruise Day One We have the tiniest little room way up at the very top of a very narrow skinny hotel. It reminds us of the love dungeon (our first basement apartment) but it is up at the top so we called it our "love tower"! The bed is a double and you can only stand up straight in the room if you are standing on Scott's side of the bed! The tub is half size (I think they made it for Napoleon).  But I slept great. The weather was amazing! After getting in it was too early to get our room so we left our bags at the hotel and walked around for about an hour while waiting to meet up with the Parkers again. Memorable highlights and sayings from 2007

January Highlight: Staying at our friends cabin up by Mt. St. Helens. Just a quick drive up the mountain and we had plenty of snow for sledding and great views of St. Helens. January Quote: Scott and I were in the car with Cassidy. I was complaining about how tired I had been. It didn't see m to matter if I slept 4 hours or 8 hours, I always felt tired. Cassidy who had been relatively quiet up till this point pipes up and says, "maybe you are going through menopause." Scot t and I started laughing and then Cassi dy admitted she didn't even know what that meant, she had just heard it in "F ather the Bride II".
